Code for the People
1-month SPrint ✦ Motion, Animation, VFXCode for the People is a documentary short funded by Automattic, the company behind WordPress, Tumblr, WooCommerce and other internet tools, about who built the open web, who’s trying to close it, and what you can do about it. It’s directed by Bao Nguyen, whose work includes “BTS: The Return,” the Sundance-premiered “Be Water” and Netflix hit doc “The Greatest Night in Pop,” and features Matt Mullenweg, Linus Torvalds, Jensen Huang, Cory Doctorow, Jimmy Wales, and open-source builders from around the world. Kue created the film’s motion graphics, animation, and VFX, turning abstract ideas like open source, ownership, and walled gardens into visuals a general audience could feel, without ever pulling focus from Nguyen’s storytelling.
